LINDSEY STIRLING BREAKS GROUND WITH D’ADDARIO STRINGS

Classical Crossover Violinist, Lindsey Stirling, Officially Signs with D’Addario; Look for Her New Dance-Meets-Classical Release, “Shatter Me,” on the Billboard 200 Albums Charts!

D’Addario is proud to welcome classical crossover violinist and entertainer, Lindsey Stirling, to its artist roster. On stage, Stirling moves with the grace of a ballerina but works the crowd into a frenzy with her incredible violin prowess.

Sterling plays D’Addario’s Helicore Violin E string and their Zyex violin string set and says, “D’Addario strings are durable, they stay in tune really well, and they allow my violin to really sing.”

Lindsey Stirling is the model for the modern independent recording artist with a formidable online presence and a powerful, symbiotic relationship with her fans. She is famed for taking requests and has recorded unique versions of the themes from Phantom Of The Opera and Game Of Thrones, the video games Zelda, Pokemon and Skyrim, and songs by Michael Jackson and Rihanna, uploading them all to Lindseystomp, a YouTube channel packed with music videos and short comedy films.

It was her experience with America’s Got Talent that inspired Stirling to start composing. Stirling’s debut album, released in 2012 and has sold 321,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. It features 12 original tracks including viral smashes “Crystallize,” “Shadows” and “Electric Daisy Violin.” She created a new musical world where the romance of Celtic folk music and modern classical meet the infectious energy of dance and electronica. The album spent 37 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Classical Crossover Albums chart, the sixth-longest run at No. 1 in the chart’s 20-year history. It also spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart.

The violinist’s new dance-meets-classical album, Shatter Me, was released on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, and with more 56,000 records sold in the first week, it debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200! The first single, “Beyond the Veil” was released on the 24th of March and has also hit number 22 on Billboard Dance and Electronic Digital Songs.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lindsey into the D’Addario family of artists,” says Lyris Hung, D’Addario Orchestral Product Manager. “We love that she is breaking new ground with her music and changing the perception of the violin in pop music!”

Stirling’s dedication to her craft mirrors that of D’Addario as they both continue to inspire performance worldwide.
