Manchester, UK synth pop outfit Heart of Gold UK has signed to Equal Vision Records and is now premiering a music video for “Adore You” via Rock Sound. Heart of Gold UK is the solo project of Being As An Ocean guitarist/vocalist Michael McGough whose debut EP, Blame, will be released on June 3. Blame was recorded in North Shropshire / Manchester, UK with producer Lloyd Preece at Rising Sun Records. “Having worked with some incredible pop artists before, and us both having a love for the late 80s / early 90s pop era, we tried to capture that unique sound as closely as possible when writing and recording these tracks,” reveals McGough.

“Signing with EVR was such an easy decision to make. They already made me feel so welcomed and as part of their family beforehand with Being As An Ocean, so being able to work with them for Heart Of Gold UK was an exciting prospect from the very beginning. I feel incredibly honoured to continue working and growing through them. Heart Of Gold UK started at home in 2014 as an outlet for me to be able to sing about my experiences with people and places, how they’ve made me feel and how they’ve shaped me as a person today.”

Heart Of Gold UK will perform live for the first time later this year, with show dates to be announced soon.

“To say someone has a “heart of gold” was to basically say ‘I know that no matter what, they still meant well’ or ‘they still have a heart of gold’,” he adds. “It was something I was told and taught at a very young age. It changed my outlook and taught me how to see that people will do things very differently to each other in life, so not to be so quick to judge as I am sure that they mean well.”
