Tears Of The Moon

Tears Of The Moon, an outstanding new track from Russian guitarist Valery Lunichkin. You may know Valery from his work with Tony Carey (Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, Planet P Project) on Tony’s Steeltown and G.O.D. Box releases. If you are not familiar with his work, then check out the audio podcast in this article and prepare to be amazed. Tears Of The Moon was written by Valery and dedicated to the late Gary Moore and features Forrest Howie McDonald on lead guitar and what a solo he pulls off! Of Tears Of The Moon, Valery says,” In 2010, while on tour, Gary Moore signed my guitar. (In February of 2011, Gary Moore died)   It was night between 5th and 6th of February, 2012. Falling asleep I was thinking that tomorrow would be a year since Gary Moore had gone… And some interesting music started to play in my dream. It was referring to views of green hills, a cheerful dance of fairies upon flower glades covered with moon magic, as if my soul had soared up to heaven and was rushing to eternity… Rejoicing and crying… As I woke up, I grabbed the guitar and quickly recorded to my PC the whole melody… And then, in the morning, I started to recollect my own night composition…” The guitar solo in this composition is performed by famous blues guitar player Forrest Howie McDonald”. Forrest Howie McDonald on Valery Lunichkin and Tears Of The Moon, “Playing with Valery is like talking to a friend I have known my whole life but in truth we have just recently become friends. We have studied all of the same guitar masters and so our styles are cut from the same cloth. As any artist would do we view the musical canvas with different spectrums of light. So it is natural we would complement each other so well. Valery did all the heavy lifting by getting the track together and playing that superb melody. I just walked in the door plugged in my guitar and expressed myself. I actually gave Val about a dozen to chose from. Now you know the rest of the story”.

The full CD will be entitled, Valery Lunichkin – Memory Of The Night and will be released in the Fall of 2016. Track list as follows:
