‘Furlong’ Release Their First Single

Melbourne indie pop- rock outfit Furlong are set to release their first single ‘Tell Me It’s Mutual’ from their forthcoming EP, with a single launch at Collingwood’s iconic Gasometer Hotel, Saturday 4th March. Supporting will be Melbourne acts The Belafontes, Palo Alto and Biddlewood.

Opening with a catchy toe-tapping riff, the track gradually unravels itself to expose the songs under lying theme. A tale of the unsophisticated approach to telling that “someone special”, you “like, like” them. The tempo draws out that anxious feeling that often comes with the unknowing and vulnerability of wearing your heart on your sleeve.

“Tell me it’s Mutual” as a very trippy and 80’s dance sound that makes you want to move to the beat.

For ‘Tell Me It’s Mutual’, Furlong worked on the arrangement whilst playing it to the crowds during their first run of live shows. It represents the loud and soft dynamic of their overall sound.

Forming in 2015, Furlong are Stuart (guitar), Andrea (vocals/guitar), JJ (bass) and Ben (Drums). Finding inspiration in new acts and humans in general, the four-piece were quick to discover their soundscape in their first single, ‘Tell Me its Mutual’.
