CAPES: a New “Dynamic Duo” in Dance / Synth
Yeah. It’s kinda like that.
CAPES are a London based “Dynamic Duo” of heroic proportions. Think dark “dancy synthy” sounds, not so dark that you’ll feel uncomfortable, but just the right amount of dark to tickle those emotions. The band consists of Adam Silas (lead vocals / sound-maker) and Ryan Morgan (backing vocals / sound-maker).
Both Adam and Ryan, originally from rock bands decided to change course and start something a bit more “dancy”. Rock elements may be found at times but with guitars replaced for fuzzy synths and wobbling bass lines.
Their debut single ‘Revival’ is being released on December 24th this year, along with the 8bit inspired music video which we hope to have an exclusive launch for your digital enjoyment on the 24th!
This will be the first glimpse of their debut EP due for release early next year. With everything primed and ready to go they are exploring new techniques and playing with new equipment to interestingly bring that full band sound live with just two people.
In Review:
‘Revival’ is both wonderfully quirky and wonderfully done musically and technically, driving beat and a tune that locks in, the “8bit” sound, which many of us geezers remember from our 80’s heyday is jubilant and makes the listener want to reach for the Atari 2600 gathering dust in the corner. This track is great and the video, fantastic in its simplicity, minimalism on a video is not as easy as one thinks, unless you are Napoleon Dynamite, Vote for Pablo and grabs up on your CAPES.
