Richard Lynch’s song (penned by Nick Nichols) titled “Country Music Isn’t Country Anymore” is an easy listening country song that certainly tells an interesting story of how country music is not the same as it used to be. One main aspect that stood out to me was that the structure of the song is different than most songs. This song is one that has long verses with only two choruses in the song, but it surprisingly works out well for this song. Country music fans will appreciate the incorporation of the traditional country musical instruments being played as it captures what a true country song should sound like. Richard’s vocal melodies are memorable and easy to follow for the listener. In addition, the vocal harmonies throughout the song were placed in the right places and added great value to the lead vocals. Overall, this song is a joy to listen to and could easily be seen being placed on country radio.
