Tell it to the Worms
Bahuki releases debut album after discovered by record producers on eBay.
A fateful encounter on the popular bidding website led Rob and Lee further along their path. When some studio gear was listed for sale – using Bahuki’s recordings for an audio sample in the ad, their demos quickly caught the attention of an accomplished video and audio artist who swiftly took the duo under his wing. Helping them build their own studio and teaching them the ways of audio engineering, it became his goal to help spread Bahuki’s music to a wider audience.
Their beloved studio flooded in the winter of 2014. In the middle of the chaos their music was shared with award-winning producer & engineer, Manfred Faust (mixing credits include: Johannes Oerding, The Killers, Tokio Hotel, Jimmy Somerville), and commercial film director Torsten Eichten who would later sign the duo with a recording deal.
They were told of ‘Granny’s House’ – a little house in the forest of Hamburg that had been recently converted into an all-analogue studio, where they could work on their new material. ‘Granny’s House’ was their home and a creative space for two weeks, while Bahuki lived and breathed music. Alongside world-class musicians, Alex Grube (bass) and Reiner “Hubert” Kallas (drums), their album was conceived.
