1 Ricky Hell – Finger on the Pulse (7)
Sounds suspiciously to us like White Fang moonlighting. Which is probably why we like it.
2 Raper Joozef – Wszyscy jesteśmy Hitlerami ft. Gatzbi (35)
Our favourite Polish rapper is back. He’s as mad as cut snake. A sort of Polish Sleaford Mod.
3 Perry Keyes – Dale Buggins Dream (43)
Dale was Australia’s answer to Evel Knievel and he was as good as the great man himself (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZw7-_KZFNs) Sadly he took his own life aged only 20 . Remember him with us and Perry.
4 Gadget & Co – Kiki Kudo (43)
Mad modern Jean – Michel Jarre meets Hot Chip gone bonkers electronica. Loving this.
5 Ultramarine – Elsewhere (90)
It’s a good week for us when Ultramarine release a new album. One of the most criminally ignored electronic acts of all time. Their quiet, English meets Detroit meets Autobahn world will rule the lives of our grandchildren.
6 Mom & The Mailman – White Boy (380)
This release by LA band on Burger records is from 2017 and is well worth a spin. Sounds more now that most music from now ! Will ,without doubt , be exploring more of their output.
7 Khana Bierbood (คณะ เบียร์บูด) – Starshine (แสงดาว) (524)
New music from Thai psychedelic band คณะ เบียร์บูด/Khana Bierbood off their upcoming debut “Strangers from the Far East” out January 10th, 2019 on GuruGuru Brain Records. Produced by Go Kurosawa (Kikagaku Moyo) in Tsubame studio in Tokyo.
8 Turtle Skull – Eden (720)
Debut single off debut album by this lot. Still trying to work out the video but if you like guitar heavy classic psych, this, as they say, is up your strasse.
9 Zongamin – Fractal Maze (767)
When BOP was still involved in that cultish activity of buying vinyl, we made sure that we picked up Zongamin as and when we could and usually from the best purveyor of this type of stuff, Rough Trade West. As always this is on the mark from the great man – 13 years since his last release ! The description reads thus, “His return is unpredictable in every sense, stylistically running from Detroit string-house, futuristic electro, ceremonial flute-jazz, to indie folk-tronica – these are high-wire jams of the highest order showcasing a unique virtuosity as a multi-instrumentalist, a truly psychedelic experience that stands as a high water-mark for Multi Culti’s cult ambitions.”
10 Helado Negro – That Shit Makes Me Sad (837)
Yes we are 4 years late with this but it’s beautiful so it’s in.
