‘Shelter from the Storm’ written, produced, and performed by Fred Hostetler is a tale about the mysterious, rage-full yet beautiful duality of mother nature, the other side, when mother gets angry.
Fred Hostetler , a humble and extensively talented artist says about this track: “In the year 2019 Nature’s fury left countless people homeless, destroying crops and lives. Farmers standing in flooded fields filled my mind; farmers facing drought haunted me. Then came tornadoes flattening everything in their path with images of people running for their lives from flooding, wind, and flying debris. What is left after facing the storms of life? Caught in the wake of this misery, where do we go for shelter from the storm?”.
This blues rock single opens with a howling slide guitar that sets the tone, carrying and sustaining the intensity of the lament throughout. With a nod to the storytelling tradition of folk music, Hostetler sings about apparent consequences of climate change as told through the eyes of a field hand surrounded by natural disasters.
In our review, we found the track ‘Shelter from the Storm’ brilliant and haunting, the narration of one trying to find their way in turbulence. Very straight forward and magical. However, with a familiarity with Fred’s past and recent works, this is also a call to the humanitarians to rally together to aid those with little or no hope, to come together and be the nation of man we were meant to be. And with a beautiful composition of music taking point from Classic Blues and a bit of Rock Infused melody, ‘Shelter from the Storm’ leaves a strong impression, great track from a great artist.
‘Shelter from the Storm’ will soon be available for streaming and downloading at Amazon, Apple Music, YouTube, Spotify, CDBaby and nearly everywhere.
