Jellyspine Jenkins, as said on their Bandcamp Page make “Homemade Music”, rough and very raw, so distinct fully Alternative, “it’s gonna be ok/lets hide for a while” is a caterwaul of sound, heavy reverb and distortion and lyrics straight out of the garage.

To be absolutely honest, this is not a slapdown review, the material and songs on “it’s gonna be ok/lets hide for a while” are very good, open phrasing and energetic performance, I am sure this would be fantastic live in a nightclub setting with the ambiance of heavy rabblerousing.

I particularly like “Maybe She Knows” and “The Dark Of Every Room”, but this album is almost too raw, there is no even levels in recording or mastering, it’s just all over the place, and I think it does the band a disservice, they have some great potential if they got a producer / studio mixer with a sense for the eclectic and eccentric.

Now, they have it listed as “Name Your price” which lead some to download for free and pay nothing, which I am against, this band especially did their deal, they came up with some music that is inspiring, Give ‘em a listen, Buy it for a 5 spot but no less than 3.00, they put their heart into it.
