1 A Supermarket In Dub – The Beat Re-Generation (7)

Quite simply we’re suckers for Dub & Ginsberg. So combine the both and it’s a shoe in to BOTP

2  Truth in Space – Truth In Space (11)

It’s got a bit of a Space,  Magic Fly feel about it. And it’s very calming. If we did Pilates this would be BOTP’s soundtrack

3 David Cronenburg’s Wife – The Lou Reed Song  (19)

Fab on all fronts. Great band name, great song name and  slightly pastiched VU drone and great lyrics. The fab songs keep coming this year

4 Qlowski – Taking Control  (54)

Just a cool rock song … they sound a bit dispossessed. That’s always a good thing.
5 Object – Secret Snake (108)

Russian dubby electronic work out sort of thing that we imagine would sound great on a huge sound system and people on a cocktail of drugs will either be entranced or terrified.
6  Asnakech Worku — Baynelay Yidal (282 )

Another great Awesome Tapes from Africa release. We’re presuming it’s Sudanese and it’s almost post modern in its ancient modernism!

7  Theory Of Movement – Global Spirit (375 )

We’re so old we are clueless as to what happened on Ibiza this past summer. All we can say it’s nice to hear a balearic tune slip out as the northern hemisphere turns to winter.

8  Taraval – Aardvark (414)

Title something Aardvark and we’re in. This a a full funky tune and something i must hear on a decent soundsystem. Love those squeaky crazy bits.

9  Moulay Ahmed El Hassani – Addabtini Mahantini (437)

Here’s the blurb.. we’re in love. Ahmed has been writing, playing and recording his music for over 30 years, and has released over 50 albums on cassette and CDr in his native Morocco. His unique brand of hypnotic, psychedelic guitar music, which blends traditional Amazigh and Arabic folk styles with modern instruments, the guitar, drum machines, synths and autotuned vocals, is extremely popular throughout the Atlas Mountain region

10  Dr Chan – Squier (808)

What’s great about  bands in 2018, the generally sound a bit pissed off. That’s always a good thing in our book.

Because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know.

We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know.

But there are also unknown unknowns & the ones we don’t know we don’t know.
