Interview: Slim KuttaR

Born in Birmingham and raised in New Orleans, Slim KuttaR, a leader, educator and powerful creator uses his diverse musical influences to create hip hop that’s in a league of its own!

Thanks for joining us today, Slim! Tell us about the influences inspiring your current sound, and how it has evolved over time?

I was able to identify early on my target fan base/audience which is that everyday person who likes to take a little time out just to kick back and enjoy life. I’m known for having that feel good party music. The more I write, record, and perform I’m now becoming a master of this sound which is helping me evolve into a very formidable artist that’s going to be around for a long time to come. Providing my fan base with a heavy consistent dosage of good high quality music.

How would you describe your live show?

A breathtaking experience! It’s poetry in motion.

Please tell us about your new, yet to be released music.

To sum it all up, all hit records. I can’t wait for the world to hear it! I’ve surprised myself.

Where do you seek inspiration when creating songs?

Honestly from any and everything. The mood I’m in, the location, and whatever I’m doing at that time become key components to the songs I write at that moment.

What have been some of your most memorable moments thus far in your career?

For me every single time I release a record for the world to hear knowing everything that went into that record to get it to that point is so for filling for me. Then I would have to say doing my first solo tour this summer. And that’s just a few.

Please let us know about your upcoming release dates and your next show date/ location.

Right now my latest single “Hangover” is out on all major platforms so definitely go cop it!! My next show I am so excited about because I’m ending my summer tour at home in the New Orleans, Louisiana Friday August 23rd at The Howlin’ Wolf. I’m turning it into “Slim KuttaR” unplugged. I got so many surprises in store so if you’re going to be in the New Orleans area you definitely want to pull up to this show!!!!!!
