IndiePulse Interviews: Hail the Hatter

Hail the Hatter is a Rock & Roll band dedicated to bringing the fun back to Rock music!

Hail the Hatter started when Jonathan Boos and Dax Cartar got together to discuss what they were missing in modern rock. Realizing they both had a love for theatrics, wild guitar leads, and the general sense of fun that seemed to be missing from most of modern rock, they decided to form a band. Quickly adding Nicholai Assam on Drums, and Aaron Lowchewtung joined on Bass, and the band as it stands today was formed.

The new EP “Discovering Light” by Hail the Hatter was Produced by Maarten Manmohan  and Nicholas Marsan, The album holds all the qualities Rock & Roll fans hold dear, merged with a modern sound and empowered talent.

In the bands own words “Hail the Hatter was born on a rain soaked day when thunder and lighting split the sky and the metal gods held their new babe aloft and said “Look upon him! Isn’t he greatly endowed? From that day forth Hail the Hatter has strode the earth, bringing hard rock insanity too all who would listen!

We caught up with Hail the Hatter and got some quality time while they were planning further world domination-

IPM: What inspired you to write music like you do?

The inspiration for our music came when our guitarist Dax Cartar and our singer Jonathan Boos got together to jam and they both realized their views on current rock and roll were the same. They both found modern rock lacking in that sense of fun and debauchery that had made it popular in the first place. Artists seemed to have forsaken that element, thinking that virtuosity and fun couldn’t exist within the same frame work. With that realization they decided to form a band that would embody exactly that.

IPM: Tell us about the other members of the band, and of your chemistry.

On lead guitar you have Dax Cartar, a dedicated and talented guitarist, who’s talents are matched only by his humble and genuine nature. On bass you have Aaron Lowchewtung the love child of Kratos and a Hobbit. On drums you have Nicholai Assam, a wild man in front of and behind the kit. On lead vocals you have Jonathan Boos who looks like a biker but sings like a high pitched girl. And on harmonies you have Nicholas Marsan one of the best singers our little island has ever produced. The Chemistry of the band is great. When writing, it is almost as if we are being guided by some other worldly force. We each all seem to know what the other is thinking, and are able to bring it out of each other.

IPM: What are or were some of the challenges for you in producing or performing while keeping true to your vision of your music?

Honestly we really have not experienced any difficulty. We have always been able to achieve our vision. The chemistry of the band is probably the reason for this.

IPM: Tell us about some of your recent performances.

We just played a show to win a spot at Wacken Metal Battle. Unfortunately we came second, but it was a hell of an experience. The crowd was hot and we put on a hell of a show.

IPM: Any Albums coming out soon or shows you are looking to promote?
